I was born in Waterworks Road in Bardon, Leicestershire, and later moved to Bardon Road. As a youngster I attended Bardon Primary School, belonged to Bardon Cubs and Scouts, and joined Bardon (St. Peter's) Church choir.

Headmaster at the school was 'Daddy' Allen (famous for playing the fiddle). Teachers I remember were Miss Botts and Miss Cambers.

Vicars that I recall were Monker followed by Nudds. The choirmaster was 'Froggy' Neal who lived on Bardon Rd and eventually committed suicide.

I was friends with Roger George who lived at the old Bardon Post Office.
I have a photograph of myself and Suzanne Brown taken during Mayday celebrations.

Other friends were Ivan Attenboro, Geoffrey Knights, Rosemary Knowles, Carol Goddard and John Gamble, all of whom lived on Bardon Road. There was also Joy Parker of Waterworks Road.

I had a brother (Robert) who also attended Bardon School. My Mum & Dad & Brother Robert are all buried in St Peter's Churchyard.
If anyone can remember me, please get in touch.
