The former Methodist Church in Bedford Row, built in 1838 on the west side of the road and close to the north end, features a classical facade designed by Charles Hide with Egyptian-style windows.
When they outgrew this building the congregation moved to a much larger present-day one constructed on the north-east corner of Steyne Gardens.
The redundant church building in Bedford Row, then called Bedford Hall and used as an auction room, is now part of The Vintner's Parrot hostelry on the corner of Warwick Street.
Prior to worshipping in the Bedford Row church the Wesleyan Methodists had a church just around the corner in Marine Place, a building which still stands on the east side of the road, and which has had varied uses from being a Masonic Lodge to being a drop-in centre for youngsters.
