I went to England at age 17 when I was still on my first pack of razor blades! I had a sexual awakening with lustful experiences, some of them good, and some were merely crude and not in good taste.
I did learn to dress correctly: Alexander & Burton suits, with tie and matching blazer often.
I AM NOT proud of some of my actions while in the UK; I did not fully appreciate my time in the UK; but I cannot retract any of it.
I sold Camel, Marlboros, Chesterfields, and King Edward cigars for "other' compensation; all of which could have landed me in prison and out of the USAF.
I had many encounters with the 'birds'; however, there was/is one special LOVE left behind -- Carole Garnett from Nottingham. It was told to me that her husband was very jealous and possessive of her, and that if I
contacted her any further, there would be trouble for her.
She had a daughter, Penelope, a dear, precious child; and I loved/Love her too. Her parents were Regimental Sergeant Major Arthur Garnett, a publican, and his wife, Muriel.
They loved me and really cared for me. I am tearing up now, even though I am married for a second time and quite happy. Fact remains -- I still miss that family and your dear ENGLAND. Good night all!
