This is a short extract taken from some memories of an amazing lady, Eve Farrant (nee Lisher), born to Frank and Annie Lisher in 1917 at Lancing, West Sussex. She and Bernard had two children, Colin and Lynda, whom Eve devoted her life to.

'In the spring of 1960 we went on holiday, spending one week at Tenby, Wales, but unfortunately the weather was rather unkind. I do, however, remember one beautiful sunny day when we went across to the island of Caldy.

The second week of the holiday we went to the Gower Peninsular where we found the scenery lovely, but we still had too many wet days. One day I remember well was when we went out on the Worm Peninsular; actually Lynda and I only ventured halfway but Colin and Bernard got to the end.

Lassie, our Shetland Sheep Dog was with us on this holiday. We'd easily found homes for all nine of her puppies, after mating her, and were pleased that we were going to be able to keep in touch with two of them. Bernard's brother Derek had one and another went to Val Cotton who was Bernard's secretary at Edwards. She was now married and living in Shoreham and we would occasionally spend an evening with them.

We returned from our Welsh holiday early as, when we awoke on the Friday, it was raining, so we abandoned the caravan site and set out for home. This was the first time we'd ever returned before the end of our proposed time for the holiday.'
